Stop by I’d love to see you soon xx
It’s been a busy ‘making’ month – I’ve used more of the gorgeous ‘Simple Life’ by Tasha Horseley to make this bag
Then…. I used the ‘Marmalade’ bundle to make this quilt…
This was my first go at something on the larger size (although it is only a single bed topper size!) – I hadn’t realised how hard it would be to keep rolling and folding to get through my machine to quilt – I’m glad I waited for my walking foot to arrive, (unusual for me to wait!), I’m really glad I chose a simple line grid to follow and I admit to being glad when it was finished, but now it is I’m pleased with how it turned out!
I also made 2 baby quilts, my step daughter’s baby is due at the end of April (our 5th grandchild and we can’t wait) and we don’t know what it’ll be so I made 2 variations
You can find a great crochet edge tutorial here
Lots of lovely ladies made fab things at our workshops – here’s just a few…
if you’d like to take part email us at email@example.com
…….and finally – it may be wintery out there but we’ve had some pretty flowers around the house – hope they make you think of spring xx
I’ve been buying fabric and it’s all the fault of Helen Phillips and her very inspiring blog here. She has used some fabric in her projects by Tasha Horsley here and that was that I’m hooked – here’s what I’ve bought and made so far
and after sitting and looking and admiring for a while (!!) I made these
When I saw this tutorial here I knew I had to make my Grandson Harry 1 or 2 as he loves to play hospitals and always needs beds! (He’s 3 and if you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he’ll tell you ‘a surgeon’). But it didn’t stop there – I bought more!!!
I’ll show pictures as I make more lovely things with all my fabric, but I really need to get onto Hannah’s bridesmaid dresses, I’ve suddenly realised that I’ve got to have them ready for first fitting by half term and that’s only a week or so away………….
…… I did warn you I was addicted!!!
(You can learn too – call 07931095052 to arrange courses at a time to suit you) xx
I had a go at patchworking this week – I’ve always been put off by the accuracy you need to apply (I’m normally much happier to sew and go!!) but inspired by some gorgeous small remnants of fabric I’d forgotten I had, I thought here goes………..(I daresay my technique is nothing like it should be so you experts out there please excuse me!!!)………………….
I embroidered the plain cream squares with a rose that resembled the rose in the pattern and I’m really rather pleased with it!! If you’d like to learn from the experts contact Poppy at ‘Material Girls’ in Alcester where they hold a 6 week course xx
One of the most popular courses we run is the Long Stemmed Vintage Fabric Roses – they can also be turned into gorgeous flower brooches (they’re also available for sale in my ETSY shop – http://www.etsy.com/shop/VintageBlissRoses?ref=ss_profile) – fancy having a go – then call 07931095052 or email firstname.lastname@example.org xx
